This is a very pertinent question to a lot of bodybuilders using SARMs for the first time. It’s an important question for numerous reasons.
First of all, you want to make sure that SARMs are out of your system before you start using any other compounds, to avoid adverse drug reactions. Secondly, knowing when SARMs are out of your system helps you better understand the changes your body undergoes.
Lastly, if you have an upcoming drug test, you want to ensure that the drug is out of your system and that it won’t appear on the test.
Factors Influencing How Long SARMs Stay in Your System
Most studies that have been performed on SARMs and their duration in the body don’t reveal important information, such as the weight of the participant, metabolic rate, genetic make-up, amount of SARMs imbued…
That’s why it’s important to understand the following; when a study claims that Ostarine metabolites can be detected in urine for up to nine days, that might not necessarily be true for you.
Let’s go through each factor and explain how it influences the duration of SARMs in your system.
Weight
The more you weigh, the less time it will take for a SARM to leave your body.
Conversely, the less you weigh, the more time it will take the SARM to be expelled from your system.
A 205-pound male bodybuilder and a 135-pound female taking the same amount of Ostarine would have vastly different outcomes when it comes to the duration of SARM metabolites in their system.
Metabolic Rate
This is also a very important factor which is often overlooked. Your metabolic rate determines how quickly your body expels chemicals from your system, including SARMs.
Metabolism is affected by your age, gender, level of physical activity and hormones.
If you have a fast metabolic rate, you will be able to rid yourself of SARMs a lot quicker compared to someone that has a slower metabolism.
Genetics
Something you can’t really influence in any way. If you’re born under a lucky star, your genetic make-up will allow you to quickly expel SARMs from your system.
If not, you’re resigned to fate.
Dosage Used
At 100mgs per day, RAD 140 has shown itself to have a half-life of 60 hours. Would the results be the same if only 10mgs of RAD 140 per day were imbued?
They wouldn’t, and that’s why you have to pay careful attention to how much of a SARM you’re imbuing.
The more you take, the longer the SARM in question will station itself in your body.
Some people mistakenly believe that the half-life of a compound determines how long it will stay in your system. That’s not true because of metabolites, small traces of the compound that remain visible even after the compound is expelled from your system.
SARMs In Your System
Now it’s time to go through each SARM and see what either science and/or anecdotal reports have to say about how long SARMs stay in your system.
Ostarine
As previously mentioned, a study has shown that Ostarine metabolites can be detected in urine for up to nine days after last consumption.
Anecdotal evidence also points to the fact that around ten days is the optimal time window for Ostarine to get out of our system.
Ligandrol
In a study conducted on the metabolism of Ligandrol in humans, it was determined that this SARM could be detected for up to 22 days in urine.
This is substantially longer than Ostarine, despite the fact that Ostarine and Ligandrol share a similar half-life.
Anecdotal reports tell us that we should let at least 30 days pass for the drug to be completely gone from our system.
RAD 140
Research conducted at the Antidoping center of Moscow revealed that RAD 140 could be detected in urine for up to eight days when administering just a SINGLE dosage of 10mgs.
Nobody knows what the exact figures are for bodybuilders that take it for eight weeks, but anecdotal evidence points to the fact that it could be up to three weeks.
Since higher dosages taken by bodybuilders would equate to an even longer detection window, it’s unclear how long RAD 140 stays in your system.

Andarine
There is a lot of conflicting information on the half-life of Andarine, not to mention how long it stays in your system.
There are no published clinical studies about the longevity of Andarine’s metabolites in the human body since research on humans was discontinued in the early stages.
Anecdotal reports say that two weeks is the maximum amount of time Andarine can be detected in urine, although I haven’t seen anyone confirm these findings.
YK11
A study performed on the in vivo metabolism of YK11 found out that while unconjugated metabolites in urine disappeared within the first 24 hours, other metabolites remained traceable for 48 hours or longer.
The paper doesn’t reveal how long, but it’s at least 48 hours or more.
Anecdotal evidence claims that YK11 is out of your system in about a week or two.
I would err on the side of caution and let at least fourteen days pass before considering myself in the clear.
S23
S23 failed to undergo any human studies and we therefore don’t have any scientific data on how long it stays in your system.
It’s important to note that even anecdotal reports are scarce since not many people have taken S23.
Therefore, I cannot tell you with conviction how long S23 stays in your system.
If I had to estimate, I would say about 15 to 20 days from your last dosage, that’s a safe bet and should be enough time to expel all the metabolites from your body.
